Stars fill the twilight, shrouded in mist
Moonlight falls upon the night skies
Twinkling fills the darkness
The moon of many mysteries, long tales do tell
About the magical phases it flips to
Gazing upon the starry night
I see costellations from when time began
Thousands sparkling against a black curtain
Telling tales of old and new
Of destinies to be fulfilled
The moon reflects in a cat's eye
Staring into the vast sky
A sweep of the moon across the water's surface
Star dance to music unheard
Though the beautiful sound is made clear
Creatures of the wood
Stare at the moon and all about it
Awed by the sight of their landscape in the sky
The cold air moves not, for fear of clouding the sight
The height of reach is endless
They flicker tirelessly, the stars
For just a few more hours
Until a signal is sent to tell
When the sun begins it's way back
The moon begins to fall back asleep
Then fades away
The night is over, for now.
A poem I wrote four years ago.

I don't know why I have this strange fascination with the moon, stars, universe and night. I just do. I find it very interesting. Maybe because it's a sort of unexplored world. However and why, I write a lot of stuff that have to do with these sort of things.

I love the night skies.
